This is the photograph of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution driven by Tommy Doyle and Liam Moynihan at the 2011 Rally New York event. Doyle and Moynihan won this event, beating Tom Lawless who placed second.

Originally produced for the Japanese market, starting 2003, the Lancer Evo was exported to the United States to directly compete with the Subaru Impreza WRX. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution won the 1998 WRC Championship for Manufacturers and was the car driven by Tommi Makinen who won the WRC event consecutively between 1996 and 1999.
