The citadel in Antalya originally had 18 of these towers which dated back to the 2nd century AD Roman era. This is the only standing one of the 18 towers. It was converted into a clock tower about a century ago and marks the entrance to the old city. The 18th century Tekeli Mehmet Pasa Mosque seen in the photo is relatively "modern".
