Why are soap bubbles so fascinating? So many natural things and phenomena are physically and mathematically beautiful - not to mention, optimal - it's hard not to be curious. In the modern world, we "waste" our curiosity on meaningless and synthetic things, when nature itself is so alluring. Something as simple as soap bubbles have complex mathematical formulations. Soap bubbles assume the shape of
least surface area possible containing a given volume. When two bubbles merge, they
provide the optimum way of enclosing two given volumes of air of different size with the least surface area.
They form interesting structures defined by what is know as
