It's not exactly clear how the Lyycians conceived
afterlife, but it's almost certain that they did. The idea that, once born, the
soul or spirit is
eternal or
immortal is almost universal among world religions. Yes, the concept exists even in Buddhism. Where they differ is in their beliefs about what happens to the soul after the death of the body. The idea of
eternity is chilling to me even in a heaven. If
boredom is an "essential human condition" as some philosophers claim, multiply that by infinity.
