The Northern Flickr is a medium-sized woodpecker native to North and Central America. It is a beautiful bird with a scalloped brown plumage and a dotted chest. Unlike most North American woodpeckers, the Northern Flicker is a strongly migratory bird.

Woodpeckers peck and drum on wood as a means of communication, to attracting mates and to defend their territory. They peck on whatever is available, building sidings, metals, light posts, and occasionally, our brains. Ho-ho-ho ho ho! Ho-ho-ho ho ho!
