In an earlier post, I had mentioned biomimicry; Animals and plants can teach us a lot. I recently watched a TED Talk by Ecologist Deborah Gordon who studies ants. In her short segment, she talks about what ants teach us about the brain, cancer and the Internet. Well worth watching if you think you are smarter than an ant colony.
