Although not visible in this photograph, The Delaware River separates The City of Camden, New Jersey from the Philadelphia waterfront. Ideally this photograph would have been taken from a height which showed the river.
The clouds together with a natural band of sunlight that only illuminates Camden give a strong sense of depth to this photograph, which otherwise would look very flat. Additionally this photo was taken with the only lens I had with me; a short telephoto (85mm). Telephoto lenses make far objects seem closer to the nearby objects; they have opposite effect of
wide angle lenses. In this photo, Camden seems not too far from where the swan rides are, although the distance is about half a mile.
