Philadelphia Waterfront, Looking Towards Camden

Philadelphia Waterfront, Looking Towards Camden

Although not visible in this photograph, The Delaware River separates The City of Camden, New Jersey from the Philadelphia waterfront. Ideally this photograph would have been taken from a height which showed the river.

The clouds together with a natural band of sunlight that only illuminates Camden give a strong sense of depth to this photograph, which otherwise would look very flat. Additionally this photo was taken with the only lens I had with me; a short telephoto (85mm). Telephoto lenses make far objects seem closer to the nearby objects; they have opposite effect of wide angle lenses. In this photo, Camden seems not too far from where the swan rides are, although the distance is about half a mile.
