I just heard the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell state that "Protests are as American as apple pie". But is apple pie really American? Despite the cute language used by McConnell and politicians from both sides of the isle, there is a concerted effort to outlaw protesting and intimidate and surveil protestors. Increasingly, protestors are "monitored" and intimidated by militarized police.
