Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
connects the NYC boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. The bridge is named after the Italian explorer
Giovanni da Verrazzano (1485-1528) who was in the service of the French Crown. Until recently, there was controversy about Verrazona's
reputation
as an explorer. The "Fog" went away in the 1950s and 1960s.
History is almost always biased.
