Everyone has a different idea of what a
fairy is. Some think they're small, others tall. Some say they are independent of humans or angels, while others say they were previously incarnated as human beings or they are
demoted angels. Some fairies are said to
steal children, substituteing them for
changelings. While fairies are said to have a
bad attitude and to even
bite, it's believed that they are unable to
lie. Do we care?
Honesty or more specifically
truthfulness, on its own, isn't a virtue. Fairies don't
lie, but they
steal babies,
bite and have a
bad attitude. The opposite, untruthfulness, dishonesty or lying is, almost without exception, a vice. Not every statement is a
universal affirmative. Nor is a fairy.
