Catalhoyuk was a
neolithic proto-city which existed from approximately 7,500 to 5,700 BC, and flourished around 7,000 BC. As can be observed in this replica of a Catalhoyuk house hosted at the
Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, how we live has not changed all that much in 9,000 years. How the dead were buried is a different story. Remains were
placed under burial pits
inside the house and sealed with clay and plaster.
