Think of wrapped seasoned offal, that is, sweetbreads, hearts, lungs or kidneys, in lamb or goat intestines, roasted over a horizontal skewer. That is what's known as Kokorec. Quite popular in Turkey, but I could never get myself to try it.

American chef, author and television personality Anthony Bourdain has once said that the most disgusting thing he's eaten is Chicken McNuggets - and that's coming from a guy who has eaten sheep testicles, ant eggs, raw seal eyeball and a whole lot of other disgusting things. Maybe I'll give Kokorec a try next time. I also agree with Bourdain; Fresh street food in other countries is way healthier and tastier than fast food in the U.S.
