I just finished watching the
Edward Snowden Interview on German TV. Very revealing. But if you live in the United States, more likely than not, you would not know about it because there has been a total
media blackout. The video has been taken down repeatedly on YouTube, and Vimeo has been under a
DDoS attack, most likely for hosting it.
This is a view of the beautiful
Dalyan riverside. But even here, on vacation, the NSA and other intelligence agencies in cooperation with the NSA are most likely spying on us. These days, even native citizens are targeted everywhere; in Turkey, in Greece, in Ukraine, in the U.S. and most other countries of the world. The global speculative capitalist agenda, and the corruption and injustice it results in, is being increasingly challenged by people all over the world, and states are responding brutally. Mass surveillance is just one aspect of state repression. Turkish
Internet censorship has become draconian in the recent years. The Ukrainian government is using
mobile tracking technology to pinpoint the location of protestors. In the United States, there are attempts at
Internet censorship, but more disturbingly, thanks to Edward Snowden, it is now known that almost all
Internet and cell phone activity is being tracked.
Meanwhile, all I really want is to have lunch at the Dalyan riverside.
