Chelsea Manning (formerly Bradley Manning), was recently convicted of violating the
Espionage Act and sentenced to 35 years in prison. She downloaded Iraq War logs, Afghan War logs, and 250,000 diplomatic cables and uploaded them to the
WikiLeaks site. She also uploaded a 2007 Baghdad airstrike video, now known as the
"Collateral Murder" video. Manning and WikiLeaks were partially credited for the
Arab Spring.
The debate, whether
Bradley Manning is a hero or a traitor has been ongoing for years now, and it's not going to stop. What we learned from Manning's leaks so far are, war crimes committed in our name, deceit and double-dealing by our government and other governments, and worldwide corruption - in other words, nothing new. Chelsea did good. She established that not everything informed people "already know" is a
conspiracy theory, and that there are real
conspiracies out there. Thank you
Chelsea Manning.
