Jodie Evans is a political activist, author, documentary film producer and the co-founder of the women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice organization
CODEPINK. Here she is pictured at the
Occupy National Gathering.
CODEPINK works on a host of
issues: Ending U.S. funded wars and occupations, challenging militarism and the use of
drones, drawing attention to the needs of Afghan women, stopping the pursuit of a war with Iran, supporting Palestinian and Israeli nonviolent activists and human rights advocates, promoting the rights of Palestinians, democratizing information and establishing government transparency, and, putting an end to wasting our tax dollars on militarism and war, instead, using this money to fund health care, education, and green jobs.
