The
American Bullfrog is a large aquatic frog native to much of North America. They are highly adaptable and have been introduced to many parts of the world where they are considered invasive due to their voracious and diverse appetites. During the 1980's and early 1990's they became a popular menu item (Frog Legs) and there was a decline in their numbers. Bullfrogs are commonly used for
dissection in many schools across the world.
Dissection, in biology, is taking apart a
dead body in order to study it.
Vivisection on the other hand is surgery performed on a living body for the purposes of study or experimentation. In the recent decades,
animal testing - the use of animals in research - has sparked increasing
ethical debates.
What is your stance on
Animal Rights? Irrespective of your position, your viewpoint will ultimately reflect some amount of
hypocrisy on your part. Many things in life are simply
relative:
- What is true for you is true for you, and what is true for me is true for me.
