The
Glossy Ibis is a wading bird that is the most widespread species in the
Ibis family. It can be found in the warmer areas of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Atlantic and Caribbean regions of the Americas. It is thought to have originated in Africa, but unlike the
Red-eared Slider, it has spread naturally. Ibises have distinctive long and down-curved bills with which they prey on fish, frogs and other water creatures and insects.
