For me, photography is mostly not about the photograph. It's about having an excuse to get out and observe people and others' reactions to people. It's rare that I
capture those reactions. Most of the time, they don't end up on the same frame. I wish I had a way to photograph the reactions to this gentleman.
I'm not going to pretend that I can read facial expressions, but I have to say, the most common reactions seem to be
contempt,
envy or
schadenfreude. And for many, it's as if other people are simply invisible.
