Evil Eye Amulets
Nazar Boncugu is an amulet shaped in the form of an eye with origins in Central Asia. In countries such as Turkey, Greece, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Egypt and Lebanon, it is common to see Nazar hung in homes, offices, cars and integrated into jewelry.
It is told that, an American scientists visiting the great physicist Niels Bohr is surprised to see a horseshoe hanging over his living room door. He asks Bohr, whether a physicist such as himself really believes in such superstition. Bohr answers: "I believe no such thing... However, I am told that a horseshoe will bring you good luck whether you believe in it or not".
