Blue Heron at Darby Creek

Darby Creek is a 26 mile creek that empties into the Delaware River, 2 miles from Philadelphia. A 4.5 mile segment of Darby Creek flows through the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. This Blue Heron hopped along the creek until it settled on this log just before sunset. Great Blue Herons are observed to be active throughout the diel cycle.
