The so called "news media" was always pretty bad, but ever since Donald Trump became the U.S. President, "the liberal media" has taken it to an extra level with the "Russiagate" story, with especially CNN insinuating around the clock that Russians hacked the elections, Russians (Putin) got Trump elected, Trump colluded with the Russians. But the story is coming apart with CNN journalists getting fired and exposed,. "Russiagate" is also collapsing as a political strategy for the Democrats.

Earlier tonight, in their vitalized attempt to trash CNN, I heard someone on Fox News actually use the term "manufacturing consent" - a term popularized by Noam Chomsky in one of his most outstanding books: "Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media". Fox News quoting Chomsky, it doesn't get much better than this...

The corporate news media in the U.S. acts like an "information bubble". Fox News feeds you with so-called "conservative" bullshit, CNN and MSNBC feed you with so-called "liberal" bullshit, and you pick the one that affirms whatever your inclinations are. They have no interest in presenting a critical and nuanced view of what is going on in the world. You are the targeted "product" that they're trying to sell the advertisers.
