Diet
fads over the years: Low carbohydrate diet, high protein diet, cigarette diet (smoking instead of eating), Inuit (fish) diet, grapefruit diet, macrobiotic diet, juicing, cave man diet, Atkins diet, Sugar Busters diet, raw foods diet, South Beach Diet, no gluten diet, no diary diet...
All of them seemingly work so long as you become self-aware and change your habits. On the other hand, the
Diet Industry is a multi-billion dollar business that will sell you any fad by first making you feel unhealthy or lacking and then providing you with the secrets of a
perfect diet; It's all about making you feel better about yourself. And we buy it.
Being mindful about what you eat makes sense so long as you don't get too carried away. What is increasingly garbage is our food supply; The use of herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics with questionable safety, GMO foods, unethical trade and marketing practices, monopolization of food and seeds by multinational conglomerates, unsustainable agricultural practices, highly processed and unhealthy foods, etc, etc, - that is what's concerning.
By the way, gluten-free anything tastes disgusting and is probably
not healthy at all.
