Breakdancing originated in New York City in the 1970's. By the mid 1980's it was a world wide sensation. Most modern art forms start in garages or on the streets and eventually become mainstream. Rock, Hip-Hop and Breakdance are examples. Ever been to a Hip-Hop theater?
